Hey guys,
Just bought an 01 Accord 4 door automatic vtech, the girl had her boyfriend put a sound system in the car, and the guy really screwed it up. Evidentally he touched something or something sparked so she says and since then the dash lights havent worked. Dash lights, lights behind the a/c controls, and the lights between the seats for the shifter. Im a pretty good techy kinda person and know how to work on cars but I dont know where to start with this prob. All the fuses EVERYWHERE are good in the car and under the hood. I was thinkin maybe the dimmer **** could have something to do with it maybe not but I cant find the damn ****, we've always owned 90 models. Where should I begin to try to track this problem down.
Thanks in advance. (btw the abs, and maintence light are on, but ill go by autozone and pull the codes later)

I'd just find a schematic - there's books on this forum - and a multimeter, and id the circuit for the dash lights, etc. and start at the fuse and go up towards the lamps/loads. At some point you'll find the circuit open, maybe due to a previous short.
Keep us in the loop.

Maintenance light has no code. It's just a SIMPLE reminder that 7500 miles have gone by and its time to change the oil. Here's how to reset it.
Key off.
Press & hold the odometer-reset button.
Continue holding the reset button & turn on the key (no need to actually start the engine).
Continue holding that button forever. Well, about 10 seconds but it seems like forever.
Maintenance lamp will flash a few times then go out.
Done!
Autozone might not be able to read ABS codes. Not sure about that...
