Default No electric, battery & fuses ok, car won't start

This am, turn key, car doesn't immediately start, but turns over and fires. Try again. All is dead. No dash lights, nothing.
Battery is fine. 12 volts. All fuses under hood and both driver and passenger side ok.
Getting 12 volts to under hood fuse box. Positive battery terminal to engine block ground shows 12 volts.
Ignition switch continuity tests all check out ok.
Don't know how to proceed any further.
2000 2.3L

What if something catastrophic happened, like throwing a rod? Would everything shut off like that as a protective measure?

Suggest removing battery connections, cleaning, and reinstalling. A weak connection can cause your problems. Also a bad cable (either positive or negative) can also cause this problem.

good luck

Yup. That was it. You know what? You just saved me getting a new used car. Had already put a down payment on a 2002 accord. Why? I'm just a little nervous. Everyone tells me to get a new car coz this one has 320,000 miles on it. Except even at 320, the thing runs like a dream.
Thanks for proving the infidel unbelievers wrong. This is a great car!
