Default No heat! What else can it be?

Have a 1989 Honda Accord DX. Have no heat. Replaced the Thermostat and the heater core. The valve that is in the hose feeding the core is working and clear. I bleed the air with the valve until fluid ran out. Could I still have vapor lock or maybe the water pump is going out. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, please see my other post "no heat". I thought it had been deleted because I had posted in the DIY area.

Was heating OK before the work?

I recently found it necessary to run the car at highway speed to clear air from heater core. This was a 2001 Celica, but same might happen w/ an Accord.

Does engine fully warm to midrange on the temps scale and cooling fans come on? If yes, the water pump is working.

Feel heater hoses, if they're cool no coolant is circulating for some reason; air lock, blockage, pinched heater hose, reversed heater hoses, etc.

If heater hoses are hot, something is preventing air from flowing over the heater core. The vent doors may be damaged or out of adjustment and are forcing air to bypass the heater core.

There is a 89 Accord shop manual for download from Online Manuals links. It is mislabeled as 89 Accord Secan. This will help you resolve your problem.

good luck
