Default No spark from distributor

i have 2002 uk edition 1.8 vtec sport accord, problem started when car kept cutting out from time to time, sometimes at idle other times at speed whilst driving. after repeated attempts of car starting then cutting out after few seconds car would run fine again until it chose at random to cut out once more. I was informed that apparently accords of that year suffered very common problem with regards the internals of the distributor and should change it and this would solve problem i was having with car, changed distributor and now car is failing to provide spark from distributor at all, have tried changing distributor back to the one i took out but still no spark, is there any relays or fuses or anything at all that can be checked to ascertain why there is no spark??? please help someone, am at my wits end wityh problem now, many thanks.......
