Default Oil and filter??

Noobie here...sorry if its been asked a zillion times.
Wife just purchased a 2000 Accord V6.
Manual calls for 5W-30....is the Mobil 7500 decent?

Also, what filter are you folks running? Would prefer to purchase from Autozone (Bosch, Pure-one, Mobil 1). Getting to the dealer for a filter is a pain.
I've had great results with Bosch filters (3323) on my Honda V-twin.

I typically just use Mobil 1 Synthetic 10-W30 with a fram or napa oil filter.... unless I'm doing it myself then I prefer the K&N oil filter

any major brand oil will work just fine, theres not really a difference. me personally I use castrol 10w-30 and WIX filters in my 92 accord.

I think the biggest thing is just consistency, use the same oil each time and try to use the same filter and change it every 3,000 miles and you'll be fine... Fram and WIX both have a long standing reputation as good oil filters for a good price

I used to use Fram for everything, then after doing some research and reading from the experts on here that Fram oil filters arent as good of quality as you might think. the compnents are assembled very sloppy and they have one of the smallest filter elements of any filter. Hate to say it youd be better off with a WAL-MART oil filter over a Fram. oil however like I said is all personal preference, the cheap stuff works just as well as the $4 a quart stuff, minus synthetic of course.

I've used Fram for many years, no problems, but I also quit getting them after hearing about the construction & quality.

Mobil-1 & Purolator PureOne are both excellent filters.

We don't know what part of the country (world?) you're in, so keep that in mind if you consider 10w-30 or heavier oils. We have 'winter' where I live, so I use 5w-30 or 5w-20.

I used to use Fram exclusively for all of my filters. Then I started reading about the poor workmanship that goes into each one. I now own 2 Accords and use olny Honda filters. That being said Honda filters are made by two different manufacturers, FILTECH and FRAM. There are 2 different part numbers for each of these. The number ending in 001 is made by Filtech the one ending in 002 is made by Fram. If you go to the dealership they will only have on or the other. I now only use the Filtech manufactured filter. They are hard to get at the dealership so I end up bying them on Ebay. Usually I get them for about $5 including shipping.
