Default Oil level ?

I just got a 99 Accord 2 dr, 4 cyl. When i went to buy it I checked the oil and only very little was showing on stick, the owners didn't know anything about it. I brought it home and couldn't get the drain plug out so I brought it to an oil change store, drove it a little that night and checked in the morning and same thing, barely showing on stick. I looked and everything was dry under the car, not burning it.... Anybody have this problem? thanks in advance.. I think I'm gunna drain the oil and see how much was in there.

hey tpsball, yeah i have the 2000 model of the car. it does burn oil if you run it hard but it shouldnt that much in a day. are you sure the oil change store got that drain plug out and changed your oil? i would try to get that drain plug off and do all your changes yourself. and when your doing your oil i would add some engine additives such as lucas oil products. im a big believer in that lucas. that should slow the oil burning in our 2.3l engines.

i looked at the dipstick and it looks like an aftermarket stick, nothing on it all about honda, no writing at all. I put another dipstick in, not for that car but about 1/2'' longer and it reads all kinds of oil. Tomorrow i will go to the honda dealer and compare. thanks
