open air airfilters

Question. I have a 91 accord I was given, an intake air filter from a friend. He said it was a washable air filter. I know nothing about how to clean this thing . can someone help? what are the procedures ?

What type of washable filter is it? K&N, Fram, Airraid, Accel, AEM, etc...each company has different instructions on how to clean them.

in a nutshell

you wash filter in soap and water.
rinse filter in clean water.
oil filter with suggested filter oil.
