overdrive cable help?

Default overdrive cable help?

i need help installing the overdrive cable on my car.....need to make sure its in the right position so i dont burn some clutches in the tranny

you shouldn’t burn out any clutches from the TB trans cable. Fallow the cable to the trans and make sure it's tight...but not 2 tight. It's adjustable at the trans itself..might be little hard to get to tho.

"Overdrive cable"???

Are you talking about the throttle cable that goes from the throttlebody down to the trans?

It should be adjusted so the transmission lever just begins to move at exactly the same time the throttle begins to move.

First loosen the cable a bit to be sure you know where the "starting" point is at the tranny-end of the cable. Then tighten it just enough to remove the slack.

yea thats the cable im talking about. im having trouble getting it right and im not sure on how to start.....it seems to short??

There should be a couple nuts where the cable housing is clamped to a bracket at the throttlebody. Loosen those & work them up or down - the cable housing should have a long threaded end for all kinds of adjustment.

Maybe the actual cable end isn't wound properly around the drum of the throttle shaft?
