Default Overfilled engine oil

Hey guys, I just overfilled my engine with about 0.125 inch above the second marker, is it bad? Do I need to drain a few more? I just changed oil yesterday. Do I have to do it right away?

Thanks!

it will be fine, better to have too much than too little, and trying to drain out just a little would be a pain.

engine leakage due to slight overfilling=not likely.

If it leaks a little, then it will be filled just right! I wouldn't worry about it though, unless you have another reason to be worried. I'll be upping my oil capacity to about 6 qts. pretty soon and increasing viscosity to 10W40 most likely.

Well, you dont increase oil capacity by simply overfilling. Probably getting a bigger oil pan?

Overfilling by a LARGE amount can lead to the crank whipping up the oil into a foam that doesnt lubricate very well.
