Default P0756 in 2003 Honda Accord - First gear problem

Hello everyone,
There is this annoying issue I have been having with my 2003 Honda Accord Ex for a while now.
Whenever I start the engine in the mornings (from cold start), the shift from P to R is normal, R to N is normal, N to D will delay for about 10 seconds and suddenly engage with a JERK. When this happens, the MIL (Check Engine Light) comes ON and then the D light start flashing.
When this happens, N to R shift will jerk, P to R shift will jerk, etc.

I connect my OBD II scanner and the code is P0756 and P0756p

What I do to make the shift normal sometimes is this,
1) I will run the engine till it get to operating temperature (when the fans start running).
2) I will rev the engine to about 4500 rpm for 2seconds.
3) Turn OFF the engine.
4) Clear the code with the OBD II scanner.
5) Start the engine again.
6) Rev the engine to 4500 rpm again
7) Then the N to D shift becomes normal

What I have done to resolve this issue.
1) I brought out the Shift Solenoid B (the one in the tranny area with 9 bolts covering).
2) tested it by applying 12V to it and the clicking was normal. Not sluggish.
3) interchanged Shift Solenoid A & B positions.
The problem is still there.

It now appear to me that SHIFT SOLENOID B is NOT stuck off.

Please I need help to enable me resolve the N to D shift jerk issue.

Thank you all.

When was the last time you drained and refilled your transmission fluid?

to fix P0756, Honda recommends to 'drain the fluid through a strainer and check for metal and clutch debris'.

Please, where is the ATF Strainer located on the tranny?

You drain the fluid like you are doing an ATF change, then pour the drained fluid through a strainer.

What kind of fluid did you use to drain/refill the transmission?

Thank you @PAhonda

the ATF I used is

Honda Genuine Automatic Transmission Fluid ATF DW1

Also, the last time I removed the ATF, I filtered it with a fine white linen and I did not see and metal debris of any sort

How did you change shift solenoid A & B positions? Solenoid A sits on top of the transmission and is a different size than B.

@PAhonda , you are referring to the "Automatic Transmission Clutch Pressure Control Solenoids". Those are the Solenoids that sit on transmission housing.
The Shift Solenoids A, B, C, D (with ATF temperature sensor), and E are in the Transmission, enclosed by covering with nine 10mm bolts, near the Driver's side front tire..

So what I interchanged was the Shift solenoids NOT the AT Clutch pressure control solenoids.

Though, that exercise did NOT do any good.

Thank you Sir.

Thanks. I understand what you tried.

The repair options from the shop manual for a P0756 are replace the transmission fluid, replace the solenoid, or replace the transmission.

Swapping the solenoid didn't work.

I'd replace the transmission fluid 2 more times vs a new transmission. It is much less expensive and worth a shot.

To replace most of the transmission fluid, you need to drain, then refill with ~ 3 quarts, drive to mix the new fluid with the old. Then drain/refill 2 more times, where you use 9 quarts of transmission fluid. The reason is that the transmission holds about 7 quarts of trans fluid, you only drain about 3 quarts. So doing a 3x3 quart replacement with good mixing in between removes 5.7qt of the 7 quarts. Since you recently did a 3 quart change, repeat 2 more times.

Thank you again @PAhonda

I went with your suggestion and I have replace the Transmission fluid with new 3 bottles.

My observation after the first fluid replacement;
1) The Shift from P to N (P-R-N) was smooth.
2) The shift from N to D was rough. Delayed for about 8 seconds, the engaged roughly.

I still did the following to make the N to D shift to the first gear (gear 1) a bit smooth;
1) Return the Shift lever to P, after the N to D rough engagement
2) Turn off the engine.
3) Turn ON the engine again.
4) Rev the engine to about 4500rpm for about 2seconds.
5) Wait for about 5 seconds.
6) Then move the Gear Lever from P to R to N to D, then the first gear/shift will engagement becomes smoothly.

Also, after driving for about an hour or more and coming to a stop. Starting the engine and N to D will shift the first gear smoothly.

The problem with the car is shifting into GEAR 1 from cold start.

Thank you again.
