Default Passenger window not working

The window on the passenger side of my car isn't working properly. I can lower the window about 4 inches and then it gets stuck. I then have to pull it up with my hand while holding the window switch in the up position to raise the window back up. Once the window is up it makes a clicking sound if I keep the window switch in the up position. If I replace the window motor will that solve the problem???

Default RE: Passenger window not working

On Accords, the window motor is not a separate item but part of the entire power window drive regulator, and must be replaced as a unit.

Your problem may be a damaged window channel guide (rubber gasket that fits in the door frame w/ a groove for window to slide). I would suggest removing the door panel (get a shop manual to guide or you will damage the door panel) and inspecting, cleaning, and replacing the window guide as indicated. Read DIY section for relevant information.

If regulator is damaged, used regulators are readily available on used parts market. Check ebay for parts by mail, and car-part.com for local parts. New replacement parts are also available at reasonable prices from auto parts suppliers.

FYI, you get better responses if you provide model/year of your vehicle. Post this info in your signature line. Read the forum guide for new posters.

good luck
