Default PCV Valve Confusion Honda Accord LX 2000

I am bit confused I went to advanced auto parts to get a new PCV Valve they gave me that looks like this
Buy Beck/Arnley PCV Valve 045-0262 at Advance Auto Parts

Mine has the part in the engine and on the hose has another part. It's not one whole piece like the one they gave me.

My question is the part in the hose it seems pretty tight does it come out?

Or do I have the wrong PCV Valve? I was trying to do it myself because he said it just pops out and the other one pops in but its different.

I didn't take this picture but this is what my engine looks like. So basically my PCV Valve is on top of the engine.

Thanks

Moved to Gen Tech.

This is a 4 cyl, correct. Not sure of what you have, part in the engine, part in the hose....kind of sounds like the onld one broke. If it is a plastic piece in the hose, yes it should come out. See if this pic helps, PCV is #2?

it is a 4 cylinder yes. I will take a picture of it on my break. Of my actual engine that would probably be the best thing thanks for the help.

I do know that the piece thats on the hose pops on to the piece on the engine it didn't look like it was broke to me. I will double check it though and take some pics.

The new part you bought as indicated in your first post is the correct part.

The used one in the pictures of your engine is a different PCV valve with an angled adapter.

PCV valve are relatively simple devices.

yea it broke dude. it's not supposed to come apart like that and the one you gave a link to for the new one is the right part. when it comes to the PCV valve though i usually get it straight from Honda though the one i got from Advance didn't work so i took it back and went to the Honda dealership.

yes the part in the hose should come out. it makes it easier when you take a flat tip screw driver and push on the hose and pull on the plastic part.

Yes, it should pull out and not be needed.
