PCV Valve full of Gunk

Oh I am happy, I love this car.
(My GTI did not eat one quart in 11 years and my Saab only eats a very small amount. My cougar on the other hand eats more oil than gas
So basically I am trying to understand this engine. Thanks for your response.

Engines consume oil; fact of life. FWIW, over the years I have found many of the engines I've looked at which don't obviously consume oil really sufferer from fuel dilution. Said another way, as the engine gradually consumes oil, the oil itself effectively gains in volume due to excess fuel being held in suspension.

I suspect that engines that "burn no oil" only manage this by replacing consumed oil w/ contaminants (water and gasoline) as fast as oil is consumed.

Oil on the cylinder walls remains on combustion stroke and is exposed to temps that would cause burning and vaporization.

Many engines leak more oil than they burn.

PCV deposits oil on the intake manifold which drys and never returns to engine. This is normal expected consumption of oil.
