Default Platinum plugs worth it?

I'm getting ready to swap plugs on my 2000 4cyl Accord. I believe this car came with platinum plugs from the factory. Are there any benefits other than longetivity with plat plugs? $3 for NKG regular plugs, and $13 for platinum. It's easy to swap plugs so I'm wondering if I should just go with the reg. Any reason to use the platinum?
Thanks

Platinums are OEM. Your car was made to run on them. Other than that, I really don't know if regulars would decrease performance. But you really will break even anyway. Around $10 per plug for platinums (I got mine for $9 at Advance Auto Parts) and around $3 for regulars. The plats will last at least 100k miles. The regulars are only supposed to last 30k. So you would need to change your regulars 3 times before you had to change the plats anyway. tehrefore the plats are about the same deal. Just hope the price of plugs doesn't go up, or you will wind up spending more on teh regulars in the future than you spent on the plats today.

Good points. I am fixin' to order (yes, I live in the deep South, so we are always fixin' to do something) some stuff and was wondering if the plat plugs were worth the difference. Think I'll just stick with the OEM plat plugs.

Yes. And we "reckon" things a lot. We also say y'all and aint. We also have dental care.
No. We do not sleep with our sisters and cousins either (well - some cousin love may go on by a few sickos, but I think it'sfrickin gross)

I would recommend going with what Honda said would work best.

Platinum plugs shouldn't cost $13 each.
Iridium plugs close.
Check for costs.
RockAuto good price point reference.
