Default PLEASE HELP DASH LIGHTS!!!1!one!

Hey guys, new to this forum, but have been an active member in other forums, and ive been looking around at this forum for the past 2 months. I know the rules "search" and i tried to no avail.

Well I have a Honda Accord v6 coupe 99... with 34,000 miles on it.

Today when i was driving, I had this awful noise like a belt was rubbing like crazy, I shut off the car go get my haircut, and when I come back and start it the following lights were on in the dash : Battery, Brake, LEFT and RIGHT door open, trunk open, rear brake light.

So I open up the hood and the car makes the noise more predomininte with further acceleration. There was also a pinging noise under the hood. Im out of warranty but I called the dealership and they said they would do it for free. I really just want to know what the hell is going on?!?! anyone have a similar situation or any techs ever see these symptoms, the one shop I went to said oh it could be anything to from a loose heatshield to a electrical problem, but they wouldnt look at it since it wasnt under warranty without charging me or calling up the field rep for "good consideration" The dealership that said they will do it cant take me in till tuesday, and they are an hour away....

Is it safe to drive until then? Should I drive it up there an hour away? ANY HELP PLEASE THANK YOU

Based on your description I would guess it's most likely either a loose belt (the main serpentine belt being loose) or a bad alternator, the alternator can make a funky sound and would cause a number of those lights to come..... Does the transmission still feel sound on it? like it's functioning normally.... can you tell what side of the car the noise is coming from? are all your fluid levels good? Start with checking that belt.... also, does it make the noise when you're sitting at idle or only when driving?

The noise is not comming from the alternator, its comming from the back of the engine near the drivers compartment. I just got the car so im not sure how the trannsmission is supposed to shift, sometimes it downshifts when going down a hill when applying brakes, but other then that it shifts at 2200rpm like its supposed to. The tranny feels similar to my old auto that was a 94 nissan altima, but then again i dont know how that tranny felt when it was new either. But the noise is there at idle, but as more RPM's increase so does the noise.
