Cool popping during steering

First off, I am new here. So hello to everyone out there. I have a 97 accord with 270,000 plus miles on her. She is still going strong. Never been to a shop for I have done everything to her since bought. No major problems since I bought her, which is awesome. But I am having a popping noise now coming from the steering I believe. It’s not the cv joints, replaced those earlier. But when the car is parked and I turn the wheel I hear a popping noise. For some reason it only does it when I turn the wheel to the right. Not the left. So, do you guys have any suggestions about what I should check when I get under it tonight??

Ball joints on the ends of the steering tie rods might be loose? Or the upper & lower suspension balljoints.

Maybe even something loose allowing the rack itself to move?

Have someone work the steering wheel back & forth while you watch under there.

You also have a coupler connecting the steering column to the rack that could wear. I believe yours is the U joint design

Hi,
Did you get to identify the problem? I have 91 Honda Accord LX 4-door and I have the same problem of the car making popping sounds when I turn my steering wheel to the right(while driving and not so much to the left side). If you have identified, would you be kind enough to share what was wrong? and what did you do to fix it?

thx,
TZ
