Default possible causes of surging when ambient temperature warm

Just reopening this again from an old thread I had started last year. I have a 96 accord ex 2.2 auto that surges at any driving speed when outside temperature gets warm. The car drives/shifts as it should when the outside temp is cooler, say below 15 degrees c, or 65 f for our American friends. Above this temp, once the transmission warms up the surging starts. The rpm bounces up and down and it seems like the transmission shifts rapidly between third and fourth gear. Not sure if it is the tranny because when you manually pull the shifter down to third gear, it still does it. Shift solenoid, lock up solenoid? both were cleaned and verified for operation as well as resistamce last year, transmission oil was changed once but will do it again. Any ideas? No cel or transmission codes.

That is odd. Does the surging only happen when you are in drive?

The surging happens when the shifter is pulled down into third also. Trying to figure out what is affected by the ambient temp to make it behave the way it does. Coolant temp, thermostat?
