Default power steering fluid

sorry if this is a question that has been answered but i wasn't able to find it on the site.

i had my oil changed at a lube shop and they wanted to replace the power steering fluid b/c they said it was dirty. i didn't go for it b/c i thought you never had to change it. anyway i did a google search and found mixed results about whether to change it or not. so i figured even if it wasn't it would probably be worth the piece of mind just to have it changed if it didn't cost too much. i called the honda dealer to see how much it would be and they told me they don't recommend ever changing it even if it is dirty and that there wasn't even a way to really do it.

i was just looking for opinions on what to believe.

You can always do it yourself with a turkey baster over several sessions, eventually it will be about 90% refreshed. Normally Hondas don't require it.
