Power Steering Pump

if the racks not leaking then it is probably fine. there is an adjustment on the rack. check your chiltons...... it is right on the bottom of the rack under the plate. i think a couple 10mms take the plate off. then there is a double bolt. if you loosen it....it reduces effort to spin the rack and if you tighten it (clockwise) it will increase the effort.

what failed on your other pump that caused you to replace it? It is possible that you can have peices of pump in your rack.....

the bearing was completely gone in the old pump, you could move the pully around (not spining) easily with your hand.. and while turning, it was loud grinding and leaking fluid out of the front
