Problem with door lock

Problem with door lock
The rear left power door lock on my 98 Accord has no problem unlocking or locking when the car engine is running but once the car is turned off, I have to push the unlock/lock switch 3-5 times before the lock will unlock/lock. It slowly moves up/down each time.
Any ideas? TIA
