Default Door Lock Wont Unlock/Lock from keyless entry or Power Locks???

I have a 2003 Honda Accord LX, and this problem has been happening for some time. As this car ages and progresses with other issues, this problem becomes all the more irritating. This car only has a drivers side key cylinder, none on the passenger. Im sure it is a subtle security measure. For a couple of years now the door lock will not operate off the power lock or keyless entry, only manual locking. Which, is not a huge issue, but its irritating. You can hear the door trying to unlock/lock when you press the button on the door or the keyless remote, but it wont move up or down. Any thoughts????

From description of problem, there must be a mechanical fault in the linkage from motor to lock, or perhaps the lock force is too large (needs lube or damaged).

good luck

X2 actuator or linkage is bad or in need of repair. most newer cars only have the lock cylinder on the drivers door...and some have none for the simple fact that they don't use traditional keys anymore. key FOB in pocket, walk up to car, car unlocks, get in, push to start, no fumbling with keys.

I have a 2004 with a similiar problem. The issue, the remote wont lock/unlock any of the doors unless the drivers door is first locked or unlocked. It tries to lock or unlock the drivers door, but it seems it might have a weak solonoid. Is that possible, or are solenoids either work or not work? possibly the linkage?

How do you pull the panel on the door without destroying all the clips?

This video looks to be on target for your problem.

I would also suggest a shop manual for your vehicle. Check automanualsource.com for $22 download.

good luck
