Default Pulsating noise...

My 2001 Accord has 50,000 miles and has been a very reliable car. In recent weeks it has developed an occaisional clunk-clunk-clunk... noise whenever I make sharp turns to the left. The repetition rate of the noise seems to correspond towheel rotation, yet brakes, steering, and supension feel fine. The noise usually goes awaywhen I apply brakes while cornering. I'm not sure where the noise comes... front or rear?Since it does not always occur I figure wait until it gets worse before taking it to the repair shop? Maybe that's nota good idea?? Any ideas or recommendations?

Thank you.

Roger

Default RE: Pulsating noise...

Take the car to a parking lot, drive slowly in a hard circle all the way one direction then try it the other direction, if it only makes the noise when turning one direction then most likely it's a cv joint, which means that the axle (half shaft) needs to be replaced (clicks on a left turn replace the left side...) they cost around $80.00 and generally cost 1-2 hours of labor at the shop rate or it can be done fairly easily on your own if you have the tools...
