my next project is fixingthe driver's side power door lock on my 95 accord ex. when i hit the lock switch to lock the door (not unlock), it makes this high-pitched buzzing/whining noise. i'm assuming that means that power lock is going out, but not positive??? is there a remedy for this? if it needs replacement, how difficult is it?

 

they can usually be repaired, inside the lock actuator there is a plastic tab that retains a spring. the plastic tab breaks loose, then the spring doesn't have enough tension.
Iused to epoxy 1/2 dozen little tinywashers behind the plastic tab to hold it in place.
it's not really that tough of a job to remove the actuator, 3 #1 phillips screws and unhook it from it's linkage.
