Default Question about Keyless Entry

Hey I have 1993 EX and I was wondering where would I look in the car to locate if the car had or has the keyless entry module. This car has had 4 other owners so the remote(s) could of gotten lost in the shuffle. Let me know what and where to look for it even if it has it. I don't know if has it. Can I tell by the VIN number or what? Please help thanks.

Default RE: Question about Keyless Entry

No keyless on 93's that I know of. I put one of these on my 93 and it's worked fine for about 6-7 years now.

Thank you very much for getting back to me. I appreciate it. I will look into the JC Whitney one though. Was it easy to install?

Default RE: Question about Keyless Entry

Yep. Unhook battery, pull door panel off, you can splice in the wires going to the switch, but I opted to just strip the ends off of the wires on the keyless module and pulled the connector apart to the power lock switch, stuck the module wires into the female part of the connector, and then popped the male part back on (kinda pinched the module wires in there making the connection). Then you have to run a ground wire for the module (find a bolt on the door, loosen, and tuck the module wire under the bolt, retighten) and I popped the hot wire for the module into the courtesy door light on the drivers door (popped bulb out, tucked wire between the light bulb and the socket, popped bulb back in pinching the module wire into the socket).
Again, splicing would be better, but this way has worked problem free for years so I left it alone. I originally did the pinching method just to see if the thing would work, and when it did I was going to go back and redo it, but never got around to it, and since it's worked fine I left it alone.
