Well, the new temp sensor arrived today, a genuine Honda OEM part, and so I replaced it. Now, the issue has changed to the fan running continuously for the maximum allotted time, after the engine is shut off, anytime the car is driven long enough to get it to normal operational temperature.

The ambient temperature is around 35-40°F, and the temp gauge goes to it's normal spot and stays there during the drive, so I'm sure the engine isnt *that* hot. I am obviously not using the A/C, and I had it set to floor (not defog/defrost).

Any ideas are appreciated.

Part number for the OEM switch? Should be 37773-PT3-505.

No, they sold me "37760-P00-003, 37760-P00-004, 37773-PLZ-E01" (apparantly the others are alternate part numbers?). It looked exactly the same, and went in perfectly.

I will search for the part number you provided. Thanks again.

Your part numbers seem to be for the 5-door Accord, 1995,96,97. I looked up for the 4-door. What is your car? Automatic vs. manual doesn't seem to make a difference.

I would not have expected 4door vs. 5door to make any difference, but who knows.

Its also possible the switch is DOA in the box. Got a multi-meter? Check the resistance at room temperature (may as well check both old & new switches); it should be open-circuit at room temperature.

My car is an LX 4 cylinder coupe with a manual. I will get my brother to check it with his meter at the earliest opportunity.

Same 37773-PT3-505 according to Majestic Honda's site. Not infallible, but I can't believe that the body type would change whether it's normally-open vs normally-closed.
