Default Radio Lights not on...

My first post, i think.. like the forum!! will post up my pics soon.. I just purchased a used 04 Accord EX 4cyl manual with 50K. I turned the car on this morning, the dash lit up full (i have it on th brightest setting) but the radio lights did not come on at all... when i shine a flashlight, or suring the day when the sun hits it, i can read it, but it does not light up or move with the light dimmer switch. Any help would be greatly appreciated, cuz i cant tell what im doing in the dark, lol...

Wow, what a set up, never noticed such a large wire diagram for a sound system before, Illumination + B8 red / blk, Illumination - B12 brn, Interior lights dim + A9 red / blk, Interior lights dim - A19 red.

This is for the 2.4L version, it could also just be a problem inside the radio, do you have the code to reset the radio if you pull it out and disconnect power, is it an anti theft radio.

well i called the local honda stealersip and they said that this is a common problems with this model of accords, lady i work with has an 04 with 50K and she had the same exact problem at the same miles... lol...

the guy said they have to take the radio apart and replace a board inside the radio. I get a 30 day warranty with my purchase of my accord, since it was used... so, just another problem solved!!!

HOPEFULLY PEOPLE CAN FUND THIS IF THEY SEARCH!!! if someone has this proble.

While you're at it, you should look up all of the TSB's and recalls to make sure that everything has been done.

Not all TSBs are free to the car owner, Recalls are.

understood!! im just glad this is covered under an extra warranty that was added to this car by the factory to the radio. He said some specific models have this extension on the factory warranty b/c of this defect. So if anyone ever has this problem, check and see if yours is covered, just cal the stealership and give em your VIN.
