Default random squealing

my car squeals at random moments. first it will squeal at initial start up. it only does it when the car is running cold. when its warm and been driven throughout the day its fine. ive narrowed that down to either the starter or the PS belt. second if i hit a small bump in the road it will squeal but then disappear after about 30 seconds. that one has me stumped. any ideas?

most likely one of your belts. Try tightening them a bit. It shouldn't take more than half an hour to do the adjusting. Then try to reproduce the squeal.

Starter & PS belt are on opposite sides of the engine compartment. Open the hood & listen while someone starts the engine. The most useful information for figuring out noises, is to pinpoint their location.
