Howdy,

My father's 2004 accord is rattling in the driver's side, below the steering wheel and just above the gas pedal.

There seems to be a plastic robotic arm assembly that gets stuck in the wrong position, and continuously fights and rattles. Sometimes it will get lucky and move to the correct position, but shortly after it will move back and start fighting itself again.

Could anyone tell me what this part is, and if it's an easy fix? I did a quick browse on the forums, but couldn't find an answer. I apologize if this topic has been covered. Any help is appreciated.

Maybe it's something to do with the ventilation system? Air dampers?
