Default Re-Setting Radio Security Code Question, Please

Hello,

This weekend I plan on installing a new battery in a 2005 Accord LX.
6 Cyl. model. Regular radio; no navigation stuff.

I understand that the radio security code will probably have to be reset.

Assuming I can find the tag with it, could someone please walk me thru the steps, in great detail, on how I actually do this.

In my 70's now, and really not very technical with this kind of thing.

Much thanks,
Bob

After removing/replacing the battery, the next time you try to turn on the radio, the radio's display will show the word "CODE?".

Use the radio-station buttons to enter the code. (Notice that it'll only contain digits 1thru6, won't have any 7,8,9,0 in the code.) Then it'll start working.

But actually, check the owner's manual. Security codes might not be used the same way. It's possible the newer (more sophisticated) system just does an electronic handshake with the car's alarm system. If it's happy that it hasn't been moved to another car, it'll just all work as if nothing happened.
