Default Rear defogger

Hey guys ,
I have a 06 honda accord an I replaced the stock radio with an aftermarket one. I noticed that the rear defogger isn't working now. I have check the fuse at the left kick panel. I check the relay at the left rear engine compartment. I did a bypass relay an I got power to the defogger.
I assume that the aftermarket one doesn't support it so How do I make a bypass switch? an what wire is the old signal wire from the previous stereo just to make sure that the new one is t just defective

Is this a navigation unit, or do you have a non-navigation where there is a defroster switch on the hvac controls?

It was Non-navigation. Are you talking about the the original or the one I put in?

For some reason, I thought the non-navi hvac controls were separate from the stereo unit, but I'll guess from your response that I'm wrong about that. So does the new unit have a defrost switch?

On the aftermarket unit, the circled button should send a ground through the Yel/Blk wire on terminal no. 6 on the Grn 22-P connector. Was the Yel/Blk wire hooked up?

Ok I think I found the n.6 the wire is just capped off maaaan why they do that. So how to I make a switch if the seller doesn't respond

The ylw/blk is on the left side but next to the release clip right?

Yeaaaa just gets capped off that might explain it lol

The new unit has a physical button. Can you tell if there's a wire from that button connected to some terminal of that harness plug?

Redbull, do you know whether the car is looking for a momentary ground or a latching ground?
Darkmike, maybe you can check out the behavior of that wire on the old unit you pulled out from the car?

Maybe that orange wire you're holding just needs to be connected to some appropriate place in the new unit?

The O/P's photos shows the cause. The wire on the aftermarket harness was capped off and not used. When the rear defogger button is pressed, it should send a ground to the rear defogger relay coil to energize the relay coil to close the relay contact (which will supply power to the rear defogger).
