Default Rear sway bar links

I have been getting a low dull clunking sound from the back when going over small bumps on a 2006 Accord SE.

I raised the rear drivers side wheel yesterday and tried to move the rear sway bar. I was able to move it at the ball joint where it connects to the link. (not loose but there was movement)

Is there suppose to be any play on this connection or is it suppose to be completely tight?

Note, the sound produced when moving the sway bar sounds like what I hear when going over bumps.

Also I have a Honda extended warranty (called Honda Plus in Canada). Would this cover the rear sway bar links?

Thanks

should not be loose at all. Bushing is what goes bad on endlinks. I dont know if the warranty covers it. If they say no I would ask to look at the warranty part list and look for "endlinks" or some other terminology about the sway bars & components.

The year of your accord would be helpful.

I did indicate it was a 2006 Accord SE in my original posting

Thanks

The dealer tried to sell me a wheel alignment after changing the links.
Is this really necessary?
I don't see how the sway bar links are related to the alignment.

Is it related?

Shouldn't be ralated except for a couple circumstances:

They removed the knuckle or maybe had to move the tie rods to get access to the end links.

It might have been a recommendation based on miles or based on visual inspection of the suspension in general.
