Default Reduced brake pressure related to use of A/C?

I've noticed that when I run my A/C, it SIGNIFICANTLY reduces my brake pressure. I am having to push the pedal as far as it can possibly go to stay stopped when at a light. How are these two related and is this a simple fix? I live in Texas...summers would be brutal without A/C if this is an expensive fix...

Those 80 models have an idle boost on the drivers side of the Carb....see if it is working when you turn on the A/C
