Default Replace fender issue...

After a small fender bender I finally am getting to replacing my fender myself with one I got in a yard (same color.... lucky me !!).

Only problem is I cant figure out how to get the long black molding that runs below the doors off (to get access to the fender lower bolts).
Its item 1&2 in the attached pic.
I got the plastic plugs out below but I cant seem to get the clips to break loose and I'm scared to break something. What is the trick ?

You don't say what year car, but Honda has often used clips that slide into grooves. Try sliding that whole long moulding forwards or backwards. Probably have to flex some plastic parts at either end. Probably have to remove some fasteners at the inner-fender-liners.

Don't pull straight off; did you try sliding it?
