Default Replaced engine and just bolting the transmission up. Few questions

Hi guys,

I'm new here obviously, but I bought a used JDM engine for my '98 odyssey (pretty much the same as an accord - F23A engine) and just bolted up the transmission. It was a pain to install and maneuver into place. On removal I unbolted the flywheel from torque converter first, then unbolted the trans from the engine and it came out like butter. Bear in mind I've never done it before on an automatic, so when the torque converter slid off after just moving the transmission I didn't know what to do. I took it off to inspect, and everything looked good. I noticed there is a hole on the shaft that seems like it might line up with something? I didn't check the torque converter to line up that hole. I slid it on nice and gentle not to break anything, using my hands to tap and turn until it was fully recessed. Now that it's bolted on, I'm wondering if it will give me trouble? I didn't mark the orientation unfortunately. Is it like one of those mains bearings that the hole needs to be lined up for proper fluid flow? Are these things balanced and only bolt up one way to the engine? At this point it would be a lot of work to undo, but even more if I had to take it out of the van again...

I appreciate all your help guys!
Thanks

No, nothing to line up. Just make sure the converter is fully seated. From your description, it seems to have seated just fine.

Thanks so much! Now time to hook up all the sensors and splice the broken ones
