Default Replaced fuel lines and now car won’t start. Help!

Hi all,

I could really use some help on this one; I have a 2001 Accord 3.0 V6 and I replaced the three fuel related lines.

Now the car won’t start. I did the usual trick (turn the key to the second position without starting the car to let the fuel pump dump gas into the line), but no luck.

I then removed the fuel line at the fuel regulator and cranked the car over. Fuel came out of the line there...

I put the line back on but no luck! The car won’t start. I don't see a schrader valve, or any way to remove any air that might still be in the line. Am I experiencing vapor lock?

Thanks in advance for any help here. I’d REALLY appreciate it! I’m out of ideas.

Trevor

What lines and where did you replace them? Did you buy the whole line, or did you replace sections?

Hi PAhonda,

I used stainless steel lines from linestogo and replaced the entire run.

The only place where I didn’t was at the section in the rear and I used high pressure approved rubber line (the original connectors were bad).

Your fuel tank should have a return line to the tank from the pressure regulator. Disconnect the return from the regulator and the feed on the other side of the fuel rail. See which line sends fuel when you try to prime the system?

Hi PAhonda,

thanks for the reply. Are you saying that possibly the two lines have been reversed when installed?

Thanks again for the help!

Here’s a couple of photos of the delivery and recovery hoses. The photo with my finger is the line where the fuel came out when I disconnected the line.

the other photo shows the other line. It has the large cylinder in the middle of the line.

does the look to be routed properly?

thanks so much for the help!

You are pointing at the fuel return line in pic #1. The fuel supply line is just below your finger in pic #1 with the banjo bolt. Disconnect both lines and turn the key to the II position. Let us know which line sprays fuel for about 2 seconds when the fuel pump primes.

Ok. The fuel is coming out of the line that my finger is touching in the photo.

with that being said, did I screw up and reverse the hoses when I ran the lines?

This is the line the fuel is coming out of.
