replacing interior lights question?
The backlight in my 99 Accord behind the climate control fan adjust **** is out. Also, the one behind the "mode" button is out. It looks awful because the rest of the lights work and do night. Is that something that I can replace myself, or should I have the dealer do it? I see two screws under the audio system controls. Dare I? It looks like the panel comes off, but would I also have to removed the ****/button? Would I set off the alarm or ruin the radio by removing the panel? Thanks!

RE: replacing interior lights question?
This is easy to do yourself, I would NOT pay anyone to do it for you.
*NOTE* - Before you start make sure you have the radio code, you might need it.
1. Remove the 2 screws under the audio.
2. Pry out the clock with a small screwdriver, remove the screw behind it.
3. Starting from the bottom, pull the trim out.
4. On the back of the climate controls there are little pastic "screws" that are the bases for the light bulbs. Unscrew them and replace the burnt out ones with #74 bulbs.
The radio does not come out with the panel, nor is it connected to anything with the security system.

RE: replacing interior lights question?
Thanks for responding. It looks like we have the same year accord. I bought mine a week ago today, so I'm still working out the kinks. It seems simple enough to do. I was also going to ask what kind of bulbs to get so you solved that for me as well! The radio code is on a sticker inside the trunk lid if I do need it. Thanks again!
