Default Replacing taillights

Not sure where to put this question, so I put it here. My taillights whenever it rains fills up with water only on the left hand side. I don't know why, but when I lift my trunk water just pours into it. If I buy new taillights will it still do that with the new ones? I'd hate to buy them and have them mess up because of this. I don't see any visible breaks in the plastic, around the lights, or anything. I think someone may have slightly tapped my back side bc theres a slight dent, but that's it. Anyone else have this happen?

On the early 90s accords, there was a foam/rubber seal between the plastic tail light and the body that would go bad and allow water to enter the taillights. Replacing that seal may fix the problem.

Since it dumps into the trunk when you open it, are we talking about the lamp that's on the trunk lid? Sedan or couple, that lamp has a gasket.

Otherwise, maybe what's happenning is the plastic lamp assembly has a crack somewhere that you have to find & fix. Sure, the gasket is the more common failure, but if the lens is cracked then it'll leak even with a perfect gasket.
