Yeah my RPM's didn't actually surge. it was a tach problem. On the 95-97 V6 Accord, the tach signal comes from the coil. I do not think this is the case for any other Accords...although I could be wrong.

The coil couldn't possibly be your solution though because your car has coil over plug system and no single coil like the 95-97 V6 does.

hi all, i like know. i have honda accord 97xl special edition 2.2. when i driver, some places i need slow down and then i need accelerate just little (no more than 30 kms), i see the tachometer jump 1 to 2.5 or 3 rpm very fast and i feel the transmition changes very fast.
i like know what is't.

Does the engine speed change when the tachometer jumps up high?

You probably want a new thread for this so the different engine types don't get confused.

This thread starts out about a 1995-1997 V-6 which is kind of a unique animal for it's tachometer signal. Not really the same for the 4-cyl engines like yours.

If the engine speed actually DOES change then it's another thing altogether. Possibly the transmission cable (from throttle to trans) is incorrectly adjusted.
