Do you have any check engine lights on? Does it drive normal besides that issue?

Take your car to autozone asap and have them read the codes that are stored on your ECU. They do this for free.

Post the code(s) on here. They are P####. I think that your car is going into limp mode as a precaution, and this can be caused by a number of problems. Once we know that code, then we can help you fix the problem.

Good Luck

Ill be watching this one closely as my car does the EXACT same thing....only as a 91 instead of a 02, but a identical problem, once CEL comes on I can't rev above 3500 if on the gas....annoying to say the least huh?

Korrupt, You should short your service connector and count the flashes.

The 91 and 02 end up with the same result (ECU in limp mode), but may be caused by different problems.

Once you get your code, then start a new post, so we don't get confused.
