Default Engine stops making power

Alright i just bought a 92 honda accord LX manual. Whenever i push the car to about 4k rpms? it just stops accelarating or accelarates real slow from that point on and begins to choke. The choking feels like i'm tapping the gas on and off, or like i'm hitting the rev limiter. I can only get 20mph out of first geaqr because the car just wont rev anymore! I got the injectors clean but i have not tried anything else, what could it be? BTW the car has 94,000 miles. the tachometer also bouces all over the place once over 3k rpm.

The guy who sold me the car said the fuel filter was good. I took the car to a mechanic a few days ago and we decided we are going to replace the distributor and the spark plugs

just wondering if you're still at the forum - i'd like to hear the continue of the story of how much more parts the mechanic made you to buy before figuring out it was a vacuum leak?
