rubbing/rasping noise when i drive??
First would like to thank those who helped me out with the front suspension, but now i am hearing a noise when i drive. Noise is like a rubbing/friction type noise (in the front of the car)like if i need to change my brakes but i changed my brakes and rotors 6 mo ago.
The noise can be slightly felt around the gas pedal not to mention if you put your hands on the inner steering wheel where the airbag would be u can feel it as well. My steering wheel does not shake though. What can this problem be?? I have been told two suggestions:
either the axle is messed up (although the boots are fine so i wouldnt see how this could be)
or the hub(wheel ball bearings)..any thoughts??

Noises can be difficult to diagnose over the web. Do you hear the noise when the car is stopped?
Can you figure out where the noise is coming from? Front/Rear Driver/Passenger side?
I would also add frozen calipers to the list that was suggested to you. Drastically uneven wear on the pads would point a stuck caliper.

sorry for the late response...yes noises are difficult to diagnose on the web..
Noise is definitely coming from the from and is more noticeable when i first drive the car. Sounds like a rubbing noise metal on metal type noise. Like i said i changed my brake pads and rotors.. I am hearing from people that it can be the ball bearings, or the axles...
Also i can sort of feel it on the gas pedal NOT the brake, and when i place my hands on the middle of the steer wheel while driving i can feel it as well, but my steering wheel is not shaking and the car is not moving one side or another when i let go of the wheel...
Any suggestions?? I know that an axle usually goes bad when the boot is torn, but can it even though the boot is not??

Axle can go bad without a torn boot. It's just more likely that a torn boot causes the problem.
Get something stuck in between the brake rotor & the splash shield? Maybe bent the splash shield so it rubs against the rotor?
