Screeching Power Steering Pump

Screeching Power Steering Pump
On my '92 Accord EX, 269,900 miles on 5 spd, my son and I did new spark plugs, engine oil and tranny fluid in it before he takes it for a 2000 mile trip.
Noticed on idle warm-up that there was a screech, which a mechanics stethoscope showed coming from the power steering pump. Its belt doesn't seem unusually tight or slack. Not audible on restart, except with stethoscope, so it's intermittent at this point.
So how long do you think a screeching power steering pump will last? 2000 miles or more?

That is a tough call on how long it will last.
I'd probably find a used pump at a u-pull-it yard and install to verify it doesn't make noise. Then bring the original pump on the road trip as a backup.
