searched and unfound idling problem
91 ex wagon manual....260 K with rebuilt eng.
runs extremely well except for low idle when
parked, at light , stopsign etc...cold or hot, it stays at 1000 rpm.
when i replaced airfilter with k@n it diminished the problem slightly
idles rough at 1000 rpm...initially at startup around 1300 but quickly drops and stays at 1000....not smooth at all here, have to keep toe on accelerator
did, i thought, thorough vacuum leak tests...nothing
restarted computer with removing fuse, neg. battery line
checked/cleaned pcv valve, cleaned out butterfly/throttle etc...
egr seems to be working but could not confirm 100%...same with map
sensor ... have multimeter but only hvac pressure tools...go to 2 atms...would these work and what numers to look for?
I did find something new about bleeding the air from radiator which I will do 1st thing tomorrow but any other suggestions while im getting into it?
Lastly, my headerheatshield recently cracked and came off....no change in idle but other than shortening the life of my starter anything to worry about?
i know, too much too soon.
thanks v. much for any/all

RE: searched and unfound idling problem
unplug the IACV to see if rpm drops 200, Maybe pull it and clean it out with Berrymans B-12.
The idle at 1000rpm is a little high, and shouldn't be rough, misfires may be caused by sparkplugs or plug wires.
EGR is out of the picture at idle.
