Sell or Keep 2000 Accord LX 4cyl Automatic
I have a 2000 Accord LX 4 cylinder automatic. After seeing posts on this forum and a whole lot of complaints from others on the internet, I’m worried about having a $3,000 plus repair bill for the transmission in the near future. I purchased it new and it now has 96,000 miles on it. I’ve had all the required maintenance done on it at the dealer. I had the transmission fluid changed by the dealer every 30,000 miles. I’ve pampered it and it has spent most of the time in the garage. The only problem I’ve had with the car so far was the SRS light coming on which the dealer fixed for free. So far the automatic transmission has been ok. I’m wondering if I should keep the car or sell it now and get what I can out of it. What’s worse, it sounds like the quality of the rebuilt transmissions is suspect. Has anyone installed a trans cooler on one of these? Did it make any difference? Anybody have thoughts on sell or keep? Thanks.

the problem is on the V6 ..... like I have. I've only seen a few problems with the 4. If that's your only concern, I'd say keep the car. If you just want a new one, go for it.

There is, but that one's the only one that I've heard of multiple problems from ..... also, only 1 or 2 other problems with the tranny on the 4 cyl.
