Do your brake lights work properly?

You should download the 94 shop manual from one of the links in the online manuals thread in the DIY section. It will show you how to access the shift interlock solenoid. You can test the inputs for the electrical connector using a volt meter. There are 3 wires. The wht/grn wire should have 12V when you have the brake pedal pushed and the key in the II position. The grn/wht wire should have zero resistance to a good ground. There is also a couple of grounds that I would clean. G402 and G404.
