Default Short Ram not loud, engine is louder.

I installed a short ram yesterday. but the engine is way louder than the intake. i expected it way louder. why is that.. could it be that i installed it wrong? my friend has a 95 civic hatchback and his intake it really loud that i cant hear the engine reving much.

Was it one of those so called E-bay specials or was it a brand name unit...?

Lightbulb An Answer For You!!

Over the years, I've used and sold these units and have not had any one not like the ones I sold them or myself the ones I have used...

Injen, K & N, comptech, AEM, just to name a few..Does your intake have a place for the
MAF sensor also...?

Don't know what to say about the sound, except some or all the makes seem to have a different sound...
Good luck with your car...

The crankcase breather tube that originally went from the valvecover to the stock intake, upstream of the throttle; THAT needs to be connected to the new intake, somewhere between the filter & the throttle. Hopefully there's a place to connect it. The loud noise might be that breather being open to the air...

I think he is referring tot he fact that he thought the intake would be louder than it is, not necessarily that the engine is now louder than it was before.
I would not leave the filter that came with the kit on there. I would slap on a K&N or a AEM Dryflow. AEM Dryflow is louder. I have used both on mine.
