Question Small water leak left!

Over heating is now history. Replaced fan switch, thermostat, and radiator cap. Temp is very stable.

I am loosing 3-4 cups of water. No puddles, no hiss or steam, just wet area on the back side of the engine. Can't see where it comming from.

From what I see, it's hard to locate a pressure tester that fit's Honda.

Suggestions?

Got ramps you can drive up onto? That way you can get a better look at the back side of the engine, from underneath.

There's a big steel tube running from the thermostat to the waterpump, across the back side of the engine. There's connections to a few smaller hoses, look there for leaks. Pressure tester would be best, because you can pressurize it cold (not sure where to suggest finding one).

There are small coolant lines that run to Idle Air Control Valve and AICV (forget what it means) on the throttle body.

Also the heater hoses can also develop coolant leaks. They run behind the engine. Trace from firewall back to engine.

good luck

IACV = idle air control valve

AICV = Saab/Bosch terminology for their version of the same thing. ("adaptive idle control valve") Since I'm on Saab boards too, I probably get em confused.

FITV = fast-idle thermo valve has small hoses too, but you don't have one of those in 1998.

And a little coolant UV dye never hurts......I bet stores rent out UV lights as well, or sell them pretty cheap. They can then be used for other leak finding adventures.

Hardware store might sell a UV light pretty cheap (blacklight).

1992 Honda Accord
does anyone have a picture of the coolant lines that go in back of the engine, I'm trying to identify a leak, and I don't know where it's coming from?

www dot hondaautomotiveparts dot com
click PARTS
put in your car's information
category = water pump/hoses

Unfortunately, there's also some water hoses scattered in other categories, like maybe throttlebody or heater.
