2002 Accord Small Leak from Oil Drain Plug
Hello all,
I would appreciate any help or suggestions.
I just changed the oil in my wife's 2002 Accord. This is the second time I've changed the oil, and this time there's a small leak from the drain plug. Did a search here and am I correct, you need to get a new washer for the drain plug? Is this a crushable washer? I've never heard of this...
I own a 1996 Buick Riviera and it doesn't leak out of the drain plug...it leaks everywhere else HA!
Is there a part #? Dealer only?
Gracias Amigos!
Nate

RE: 2002 Accord Small Leak from Oil Drain Plug
I see from searching (yes I did search before posting ) that you can get these from the dealer cheap.
Whew! I thought I had stripped the plug, but it's just a washer that's been used too much.. I'll pick up a few tonight!

RE: 2002 Accord Small Leak from Oil Drain Plug
I haven't started changing my own oil yet, but I'm going to start very soon (need to save every penny as I will be a dad in the next 2 weeks or so).
If you go to deserthonda's "how to.., oil+ filterchange" post in the DIY section, he links an easy drain valve that can be replaced for the plug, allowing you to not have to unscrew the plug again when you change your oil. I plan on buying one of these. Here's a link: http://www.quickoildrainvalve.com/
One question: Hey desert (or anyone elso who knows), does the F-series valve fit our accords? Or do we need to call the company before we order to make sure?
