As I was underneath the car patching up the plastic covering, I noticed there was a very small oil leak near the oil pan/axle (front driver side). To give you a rough idea of the location, here are two pictures.







I have no idea where it's coming from either. Is there any "test" I can run to pinpoint where the location is?

 

The oil has spread over such a big area so that your best way to pinpoint it is to clean it all up then watch for it to start leaking.

- oil pan gasket?
- lower timing cover? (might be crank or balance-shaft seal)
- seems too far forward to be coming from oil drain bolt, but ??
