Default Update on My Snow Tires

They are working fantastic. (I just put them on the front two tires). My 97 accord handles almost as good as my Mom's Subaru. I try to get it to spin out all of the time and fail. I have not tried it on a road trip yet, but who wants to take a road trip on the ice? The car does slide when stopping on ice however. With no antilock breaks on my 97 Accord I have to do the old pump to stop.

well, fortunately i found some extra cash and was able to buy 4 snow tires from tire rack. they are aggresive looking, but quiet. not had a chance to test them on snow yet cuz the weather has been warm lately. this friday though, our ski resorts open and i'll be there for that. and i guess we'll see how the tires handle too.

Any pilots out there? It's like ground-looping a taildragger. Only less controllable.

Nothing is less controllable than ground looping a tail dragger <g>

Finally someone understood that comment.

I'm not even a pilot but I get the physics. I imagine stopping a taildragger seems OK & it feels controllable, until the moment it begins the ground-loop. Lemme guess - If you never actually experience it, you think you'll be able to handle it. Right??

Agreed on that last one. When the FRONT wheels lose traction, you switch from being a driver, . . . to a passenger <g>-
